Mason Jar Lid Label Stickers

Different available labels for Mason Jar lids

Canning lid stickers are not only for labeling the types of food that are inside, they are also great for adding a personalized touch to your Mason jar. Here is everything you need to know about Mason jar lids label stickers. What size do you need, where to get them and how to do it yourself.

Mason Jar Lid Size

Are all mason jar lids the same size?

No. There are 2 sizes of lids. There is a multitude of Mason jar sizes, but only 2 sizes for canning lids. The volume of the jar (cup (half-pint), pint, quart, and half-gallon) does NOT give you any indications of the size of the opening and the lid you will need. The canning jar mouth size is determined by the diameter of the opening. Note that the bands, caps, and lids are interchangeable with other brands too. (Ball or Kerr jars)

There are 2 different sizes of Mason jar canning lids:

DiameterRegular mouthWide mouth
inner diameter 238 in (60 mm) 3 in (76 mm)
outer diameter 234 in (70 mm) 338 in (86 mm)

What size label do I need for a Mason jar lid?

Now that you have identified the size of your lid, you can get the appropriate size for your label 🙂 The perfect circle label sticker would fit inside the indent of the lid.

Round label sizes for canning jars lids:

Regular size lid sticker: 2 inches in diameter (or smaller)

Wide mouth lid sticker: 2.5 inches in diameter (or smaller)

That being said, canning jar lid labels are usually 1.5 inches or 2 inches.

Always label your canning jars! No matter how much you think you will remember the content of your own creations, much like the Ziplock bags in your freezer, you will eventually pull out something from there that is unrecognizable without a label.

Blank Stickers for Canning lids

Using blank stickers is the easiest way to label your content, second to writing directly on the lid with a sharpie. Makes all your work look a little more official, keeping the homemade vibe. A roll of blank label stickers is also more economical than custom-made or printables. Amazon carries a wide range of blank canning labels to write on. (see here)

Customized Mason Jar Lid Labels

If you love beautiful graphics and gifting, you will want to look into customized mason jar lids. You can personalize with your name and content. It is also the perfect solution if you are managing a small business. Find a design with space for your website address and social contacts.

The easiest way to find customized labels is to go to Zazzle.com. They have a wide variety of designs that you can personalize yourself before ordering. You choose a design and change the information yourself on the website. The sheets of stickers will be shipped to you, no need to print them yourself.

Printing your own labels requires a little more work, but you won’t need to wait for the shipping. Printing stickers at home has the advantage that you can personalize them and print only what is necessary. You can also keep the template for future uses. You will need to use a graphic design software (I recommend canva.com), find the appropriate printable sticker sheets, and know your printer settings.

Cute Ideas For Baby Sonogram Pictures

Getting to see the baby for the first time at the ultrasound is exciting. You now have the first picture in your hands and are wondering how to display the sonogram appropriately. Here is what you need to know about saving the sonogram picture and our ideas on what to do with them.

size baby ultrasound picture

What are the dimensions of a baby ultrasound picture?

The ultrasound picture that will be printed out for you will be 4 inches by 3 inches (10cm by 7.5 cm). This is the typical size for a baby sonogram. The printed picture could also be smaller, the size will depend on the printer at the doctor’s office. Keep in mind that some ultrasounds will be recorded and you could leave with a CD or USB key only and no printed photo.

How to preserve and save sonogram pictures

Will my sonogram picture fade?

Sonogram pictures will fade with time. How fast they fade depends on what type of paper is used for printing but they often print baby ultrasound pictures on thermal paper. Similar paper to some credit card printed receipts that we know. They will change color if exposed to heat and eventually change and fade. The scan pictures can be preserved longer if stored properly, but please take a picture of it and/or scan it as soon as possible if you want to keep it forever.

How to protect your sonogram picture from fading

Even if you have a digital copy of the baby sonogram picture, it is fun to keep the original. Here is what you need to know to save your original baby sonogram photo as long as possible:

  • No touching – You’ll probably be showing your ultrasound picture to family and friends, but beware of all those fingers touching the photo. Photos will deteriorate faster if you touch them with your hands.
  • No heat – sonogram pictures are often printed on thermal paper that will rapidly change color with heat.
  • No light – sonogram baby pictures will fade away faster when exposed to light.

Here are some options for protecting your original sonogram picture:

Protective plastic sleeve

Preserving the sonogram picture in a photo sleeve can be an option. It will keep them away from dirt and will be easier to manipulate. You can find those on Amazon under the search terms “photo bags“, “photo sleeve” and “card protectors” (see on Amazon here)

Laminating Sonogram Picture (no heat)

A good way to save the original sonogram picture is to laminate it. Beware, however, of laminating machines. You do not want your sonogram pictures to be exposed to heat, it will destroy the picture. No thermal laminator. Look for self-adhesive laminating sheets that do not need a machine or ironing. (see on Amazon here)

Framing

Framing is a popular choice for displaying and preserving baby scan photos, but a frame does not protect from light and you could see it turn yellow faster than if stored in a photo album. (see baby sonogram frames on Amazon here)

Scanning

Your baby sonogram picture WILL fade.
The best way to keep a baby sonogram picture is to scan it or take a picture

By far the easiest way to preserve your baby sonogram picture is to take a picture with your phone and store it in your favorite cloud storage with your other pictures. It’s also the easiest way to use the picture and add it to products for gifting like mugs, keychains, ornaments, and woodblock frames for example.

Scanning your ultrasound picture is the best option if you want a quality copy without glare. If you intend to make the picture much bigger than the actual size, like printing on a canvas, for example, you should scan the sonogram. This is possible at home (with a home scanner) or a professional one (Office Depot, Walgreen for example)

Captions For Sonogram Pictures

Now that you have decided to display your baby sonogram picture, you might be wondering what to write as a caption.

Here is a list of baby sonogram captions that you can use on your gifts :

Love at first sight
Love at first heartbeat
Precious little one
Grandma, I can’t wait to meet you
Sometimes, the littlest things take up the most room in our hearts
We made a wish and you came true
Only the best parents get promoted to grandparents
Can’t wait to meet you
Baby_____ du_______
Worth the wait
Coming soon
One the way
Guess what?
Hello Baby

Tips for Decorating a Girl’s Bedroom

Five Tips for Decorating a Girl’s Bedroom

Little girl’s love to spend time in their bedrooms. It’s a place all of their own. A place where they can not only sleep, but dream. What better way to help your child’s dreams come true then by surrounding them with their favorite things! Decorating your child’s bedroom can be both a fun and rewarding experience for both of you. Here are five simple tips to get you started in the right direction:

The most important factor is to hear your child’s ideas; after all it is “her” room you are decorating! Have her sit down and make a list of her favorite things from toys to television programs. Would she like to have a themed bedroom? Or would she like to utilize her favorite colors as a canvas for a potpourri of decor?

Recycle

Make use of what is already in place. You will be amazed at how you can turn items already in her bedroom into something new! If her dresser has an attached mirror, remove it from the dresser base and place a new mirror directly to the wall. Change dresser knobs/and pulls. Flip posters around and let her draw her own masterpiece. Paint bedroom doors for a new bold look. Purchase a duvet cover for a quick bedding change.

Think Ahead

Like the seasons change, so does your child’s likes and dislikes. As a parent you may have obtained a “feel” for this. Take this in account when decorating. Also, ask yourself if she will still love the hand painted mural of the fairy’s garden a few months from now. Will she love the pink carpet when she is a teen? Explore less permanent options such as wall stick ups, framed art, and accent rugs.

Simple Impact

You can make a dramatic change by just adding splashes of color and texture. Add accent pillows and throws to bedding. Hang throws and tapestry from the wall. Change window treatments. Throw down accent rugs for quick impact.

Have Fun

Spending time with your child decorating her room should be fun. Explore each other’s creative side by creating artwork, bulletin boards, and other decor crafts together. Throw a bedroom-makeover party for her and her friends. They can each make a decor item for the room.

These are just a few of the many tips and ideas to incorporate when beginning your decorating adventure. You’ll be sure to come up with plenty of your own by project’s end. Make sure and jot them down for next time. Yes, there will be next time!
